Fraud Audio Avile

FAA started from the idea of personal pedals I was using for one-off performances. That led to more research, and eventually, the plan was to turn it into a serious product with better craftsmanship and quality. By the end of 2024, the War Machine series was released as the official debut of Fraud Audio Avile.

We were actually considering a few different concepts and names. War-Machine felt right because it represents a personal battle. It's about challenging myself to step out of Benchlab's usual scope and try something new.

What makes it different is that every device in the War-Machine series is designed to be fully independent. Meaning, you don't need any other pedals to use it. War-Machine can deliver its own power with a wide headroom. The power supply is simple too, using a coin-style battery. So if you want a stand-alone setup, you only need this, though adding more pedals makes it even more versatile.

There are five variants in total: Trojan War Machine, War Machine Wall, Shaker War Machine, Morgoth War Machine, and Gigantor War Machine. Each one has custom options based on orders. The concept for all of them is minimalist potentiometers, two selectors for the wall generator, an on/off switch, and modulation. The output uses heavy-duty performance-type sockets.

Well, since they launched at the end of December last year (2024), they've all sold pretty evenly. It depends on where people are playing, which ones are available, and so on. Some people even come directly to Benchlab and just grab one. Tomorrow, at Stroom Vol. 4 in Jogja, I'm bringing a master pedal. We don't really know how it will go yet, but the five basic variants are what I'm selling. It's not really a pattern, though. I mean, even if there are five identical devices, each one will sound different depending on who buys it. People can't just grab one off the shelf; I need to know their style before finalizing the product.

That's just the beginning. The War-Machine series is out now, but we've got more planned that's still under wraps.

We've got it in Solo, Bali, Jakarta, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, the US, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France.

All FAA products are fully sealed with their components. There isn't an official lifetime warranty, but if something small goes wrong, people can always send it back to Benchlab.

Benchlab will focus more on being a space provider for friends doing tours and workshops. FAA will be more about the devices and the record label, aimed at those using our products.
